At Antioch Wesleyan Church, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all to come closer to God. We strive to be a community of believers who Love God, Love People, and want to Reach the World for Jesus Christ.
The Lord calls us through the Greatest Commandment to Love God and to Love people in order to reach the world around us. When the Pharisees and Sadducees asked Jesus Christ which was the greatest commandment this was His response.
Matthew 22:36-40 NIV
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
As we are called to love the Lord our God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and to love your neighbor as yourself we are then called to fulfill the Great Commission the Lord gave to his Disciples.
Matthew 28:16-20 NIV
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
At Antioch Wesleyan Church we strive to fulfill the Greater Commandment and the Great Commission through our mission which is to "Love God. Love People. Reach the World."
We believe that those who are made new in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and its sufficiency to establish our faith and conduct. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and be made new in Christ. We believe that the purpose of the Church is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to reach a lost and fallen world with the gospel of Jesus Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.
